This article explains how to create product sets in your Facebook catalog. A product set - also known as collection - is basically a sub-group of items within your catalog. Creating product sets comes in handy to define which products you want to advertise in your campaign and which ones do not.
By combining the DPA customization Bannerwise enables together with the feature Facebook has to create product sets, you will bring your dynamic campaigns to the next level by having high-performing on-brand, persuasive and relevant dynamic product ads! A useful and practical use case is, for example, to define a product set to only include "Christmas" products or your "Bestsellers" in a campaign.
š” Good to know: To be able to create dynamic conditions in Bannerwise and product sets on Facebook is crucial to enrich your feed with product information. Therefore, make sure your feed includes all data you will need before creating your custom DPA in Bannerwise.
To follow the steps described below, you must have already done the following:
After uploading the feed in your catalog, thereās always a set created by default named āAll Productsā. The main set canāt be edited but, you can create as many subsets as you desire. As mentioned earlier, you could create a product set to only display those products belonging to a collection for āChristmasā or create a product set that will only display the āBestsellerā products for users who visited your website.
After selecting your catalog, click on āSetsā in the menu on the left.
Click now on āCreate setā. If you canāt click on this button, you probably need the right user permissions. If you have a catalog for āProductsā, you need to choose between āAdd Manuallyā or āUse filtersā. For the rest of the catalog business types, you are directly directed to the filters.
In the screen displaying now, fill in the information thatās needed:
Give a name to your product set.
In the first dropdown menu, choose an attribute of your feed. This attribute is used to filter the items. For example, ācustom_label_1ā or āconditionā. Note that filters are not case-sensitive.
In the second dropdown menu, choose one of the options available to narrow the search. For example āis any of theseā or ādoes not containā. The options in this menu will vary depending on the attribute selected earlier. In some cases, you'll need to enter the value of the attribute selected. For example "Christmas" or "bestseller".
If you want to add more filters and create a more specific product set, click on āAdd another filterā again. You can have a look at these best practices from Facebook to learn more.
š” Good to know: We highly recommend setting up the same rules and conditions both in Bannerwise and Facebook. That will ensure that the items matching the rules in both platforms are the same. For example:
Bannerwise | |
If "custom_label_0" "exists" AND | If "custom_label_1" "is any of these" "Christmas" |
The screen will display the number of products (variants) that match the filters set up.
Click on āCreateā when youāre done!
Thatās it, you just created a set of items in your catalog! The last step is to advertise these specific sets. There are 2 options to do this:
Option 1: Click on āAdvertise setā once you finish creating the set. This will create a catalog sales ad campaign.
Option 2: Select this product set when you create ads in Ads Manager.
