One of the possibilities to run in-banner video display campaigns in Google Campaign Manager is by using 3rd-party tags. Bannerwise supports this option, provides you with the tags you need and hosts your ads on our own Bannerwise server.

The steps below will show you the process from generating the tags in Bannerwise and uploading them in your GCM account. The use of 3rd-party tags is always enabled under request. Make sure you have access to this feature in your Bannerwise account before continuing reading.

  • In your Bannerwise account click on “Manage” and click on “Ads”.

  • Click on “Publish” on the ad set you want to publish.

  • Choose the network you need the tags for.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION❗❗

Each network has its own tag set up and macros therefore, you must choose the network the ads will be uploaded to to ensure they will be accepted. In this specific case, the network is Google Campaign Manager. Click on "Continue".

  • Click on "Generate".

  • Select the ad sizes you need and add a Landing Page URL. Once that's ready, click on "Get 3rd party tags".

After clicking on "Get 3rd party tags", our platform should start generating your third-party tags and drop them in your download folder once completed. You will get a .txt file with one tag per ad size you selected. Keep the file close by, you will need it to upload the tags to your Google Campaign Manager account.

  • Log into your Google Campaign Manager account and under "All campaigns", select the campaign where you want to upload the 3rd-party tags.

  • Click on "Creatives" on the left menu.

  • Click now on "New" and from the drop-down menu, select "Custom display".

  • Give a name to your creative, select the dimensions of the ad tag you are going to upload, and add one of the tags you generated in Bannerwise in the HTML code text box.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION❗❗

Please copy-paste the 3rd-party tag code snippet the way Bannerwise provides it, do not make any changes to it. Any changes could result in an error and the tag not being accepted by the network.

  • Click on "Save" at the top of the screen once you've added the data mentioned in the step above.

  • Click on "Preview" to check if your ad displays correctly and test any URL you've added.

That's it! This is how you upload 3rd-party tags for your in-banner video ads. If you need to upload multiple ad sizes, you will need to repeat this process. Adding one tag at a time.
