If you are trying to upload a feed in Bannerwise and get the error message “Unsupported file type” it means that the file type of your feed is not supported by the network you selected in the previous step.

If you want to know what file types are supported by each network, have a look below:

  • Facebook/Instagram: A XML file or CSV can be used for all catalog types. Make sure your Facebook DPA follows the specifications in this article.

  • Snapchat: A XML file or CSV can be used. Make sure your Snapchat feed follows these specifications.

  • Pinterest: A XML file or CSV can be used. Make sure your Pinterest feed follows these specifications.

  • Google Studio: A CSV file is required. To know more about feed specifications for Studio, have a look at this resource by Google Studio Help.

  • Google Ads: Find here the specifications per business type.

    • You need an XML for Retail.

    • You need a CSV for the rest of the business types.

  • Adform: You need a feed in XML. For more information about feed specifications for Adform, check out this article.

  • Adcombi: You need a JSON file. You can find a feed example here.

  • Criteo: You need an XML file or CSV that follows the same specifications of a Google Ads Retail business type feed. Ensure the feed meets these requirements. For feed examples, check out this other resource.

To fix this error, convert your feed to one of the supported file types your network supports and upload it again to Bannerwise.
